About
What is Messianic Judaism?
Messianic Judaism is “biblical” Judaism. We believe the Word of G-D is true from Genesis to Revelation. The first believers in Yeshua (Jesus), the Messiah, were Jewish and believed, as we do, that the Messiah prophesied about in the Old Covenant Scriptures had come and will return.
We believe in G-D’s end-time plan for the nation of Israel and for the world. A central part of Messianic Judaism is the belief in the physical and spiritual restoration of Israel, as taught in the Scriptures. We are committed to bringing a deeper understanding of G-D’s Word to the “Body of Messiah” – Jewish and Gentile.
Our Statement of Purpose
Beth Hallel Birmingham is a Messianic Jewish Congregation. Our purpose is to promote an understanding of Biblical (Messianic) Judaism. Messianic Judaism gives the Jewish person an opportunity to accept the Messiah while keeping their Jewish identity. We desire to share with our non-Jewish brothers and sisters their rich Jewish heritage in Messiah. We also minister deeper biblical truths to the Jewish person who believes in Messiah Yeshua.
A Messianic Jewish congregation teaches the word of God from a Jewish perspective and celebrates the Jewish holidays. However, we are not only for Jewish believers, but also for the non-Jewish person who desires to worship in a Jewish context. We are a congregation for all believers in Yeshua, who find richness in understanding the Jewish background of the New Covenant as well as the Old Covenant. We provide a place for the Jewish believer to keep their Jewish identity and not assimilate. At the same time, we try to break down the walls of partition between Jew and non-Jew and recognize the oneness of the body of Messiah. We are a congregation that emphasizes the Jewish roots of the Bible, but at the same time acknowledges all are one in Messiah.
About our Services
Rich in heritage, our Liturgy contains many of the traditions and prayers of our Jewish roots.
If you are Jewish, you will notice that we incorporate the biblical areas of Judaism that have been familiar to our people since the Law was given to Moses on Mt. Sinai in 1312 B.C.E. We adhere to biblical Judaism, not rabbinical writings
If you are Gentile believer, our service may be unfamiliar to you. We hope you will enjoy the Davidic-style worship and see that our desire is to serve and worship God “in spirit and in truth”
